Believe it or not, this is our first before and after post, as the bathroom is the first room that we have managed to fully complete. As you can tell from the photos below, it is a dramatic change from the old pink bathroom. We increased the size of the room by taking about 12 square feet from the guest bedroom, by removing some built-in shelving under the window, and by changing the door to open into the hallway. We improved the functionality/comfort by adding a shower enclosure to the tub and by installing a heated floor and heated towel rack. Then there's the new electrical/insulation/drywall, the slate tile, the new window, the cute cubby holes, the RH hardware, etc ... so the pictures can tell the rest!

My favourite detail from the room is the slate tile. The mosaic on the wall and the semi-circle in the floor both add a very intriguing detail that makes our bathroom truly unique. It's also fun knowing that Meredith and I just stumbled upon this mosaic on clearance at a tile store, and our whole bathroom design evolved from that piece.

Another fun detail is the medicine cabinet (the only item kept from the original bathroom), which is hidden on the wall across from the toilet behind a canvas photo of the clawfoot tub from during the renovation.

I don't know- I kind of miss the pink tile. Kidding of course it looks awesome. Good job.
The bathroom looks really great!
Did you manage to find a shower curtain specifically for clawfoot tubs? We've been having trouble finding one to go all the way around.
Thanks Kim!
No, we decided not to use clawfoot tub curtains because the selection was limited. We just use two liners along with two shower curtains ... we thought we might need three, but two is enough with our shower. We also might get a big curtain holdback to hold the curtain out of the way when having a bath.
what a transition! Looks beautiful, roomy and chic...good job :)
The bathroom looks fantastic! So glad you got rid of the pink tile. But that vintage sink with the chrome legs and towel bars was pretty awesome. I've seen lots of modern versions of it.
Love the hidden cabinet!
It looks great
Did the clawfoot tub faucet, shower head, shower head holder and curtain rods come as a kit? And if so where did you get them. We're looking for exactly what you have but so far I haven't been able to find it as a "kit".
I love the mosaic and slate tile - the colors are very calm but a touch lively too. Beautiful job!
I know this is an old post but a random google search actually made it pop up!
Just wondering - did you have to go through joists to move the toilet?
